Value: What Berlin is really like
Our Vision
Berlin is a city full of life, stories and contrasts. Yet many visitors only experience a small part of it.
Our vision is to show Berlin the way we Berliners know it — honest, unfiltered and beyond the typical tourist routes.
The problem
Alright, friends,
at the hotel reception, the same pattern repeated itself every day: the same questions, the same overcrowded places, the same tourist routes — and eventually the same photos on social media.
Why does this happen?
Often it comes down to poorly researched online tips, social media collaborations, commission-based recommendations, or travel guides that keep suggesting the same places again and again. Even within tourism itself, a genuine personal perspective is sometimes missing.
The result: many visitors only see the surface of the city or stay close to their hotel neighborhood. They miss what truly makes Berlin special — its neighborhoods, its culture, and the unpolished stories that have made this city famous around the world.
This is exactly where our mission began.
(Blog "Why NO TOURiST INFO")
The Vibe
After more than twelve years working in tourism, countless conversations with guests and thousands of recommendations for real places across the city, one thing became clear to us:
Berlin cannot be explained through landmarks alone.
You have to feel the vibe of the city.
With NO TOURiST INFO, our goal is to make exactly that visible — the places, the conversations, the contrasts and the unique atmosphere that define Berlin for those of us who call it home.
The Mission
In our guides, you won’t find the usual checklist of tourist attractions.
Instead, we show you the neighborhoods where real life happens: hidden bars, small cafés, local markets, parks and places that don’t appear in every travel guide.
It’s not about ticking off as many sights as possible.
It’s about immersing yourself in the city — its atmosphere, its stories and its everyday life.
Our Vision
NO TOURiST INFO is the most honest guide to Berlin — and aims to become the largest digital guide for the city.
We want to do tourism differently and show people why Berlin is famous around the world.
And don’t get us wrong:
Of course a visit to Berlin should include the Brandenburg Gate, the TV Tower, a currywurst and the East Side Gallery.
But those are only the beginning.
You only start to understand Berlin when you dive deeper — into the feeling of the city, its contradictions, its energy and the places where real life happens.
That’s exactly where we want to help.
A Different Understanding of Tourism
For us, tourism is not about ticking off landmarks.
It means truly getting to know a city.
Having conversations.
Discovering places.
Changing perspectives.
We want to help you experience Berlin the way we see it every day: loud, honest, creative, sometimes chaotic — but always authentic.
Berlin is not a tourist attraction. Berlin is a city.
See you in the real Berlin – or here in the next blog.
Take care 🖤
